Why would I study at the Edge? Studying at the Edge is a gift to yourself and a gift to the world. We all know the world is in trouble. There is poverty, war, terrorism and exhaustion. There is also mediocre education, unemployment, discord, racism, crime. And more. The reality of a shrinking world, the notion of globalisation, means that we cannot separate ourselves from these problems anymore. They already affect us and that affect will grow for our children and grandchildren. And there is a terrible lack of leadership - on all levels. Leadership that is inspiring and uniting instead of pushing and divisive. A leadership that can guide us in the healing of the planet. Such leadership requires individuals who have the courage to know themselves. Without rigorous self-investigation one cannot develop this kind of leadership. You have to go to the edge of your inner self, to find out who you are, to discover your essential qualities and core beliefs, and what it is that you have to do in this life. You have to learn how to empower yourself, even in disempowering circumstances. You have to learn to be flexible and open-minded, so that you can always grow and learn from what is happening around and within you. You have to be willing to confront your own pain, so that you can see the pain of others and be compassionate enough to face it instead of running away from it. And finally you have to learn to stay connected with and follow your intuition, and more than that, to connect with your inner guide. Maybe you are one of those future leaders. |

What is the vision of the Edge? The vision of the Edge is that if we develop the courage to know ourselves we ultimately become intimate with our divine self. By focussing our attention inwardly, bringing light into our inner darkness and looking into our sacred wound, we grow and become aware of our deepest truth and the unique gift we have to give to the world. Despair becomes hope, doubt becomes faith and fear becomes love. We know what we have to do and how we want to be. This all sounds simple, and it is simple. However, for most of us determination and effort is needed to walk this path. We can use all the support we can get. The school provides this support for those who are just starting their career, and also, through summer schools, for those who are already on their way. |

What results may be expected? Increased inner strength and inner peace that come from knowing your higher purpose in work and life - strong sense of inner direction - the ability to connect (more effectively) with your intuitive faculties - - preparedness for the hectic, chaotic and pressured workplace environments of today - development of your leadership qualities - psychological and spiritual knowledge and wisdom based on personal experience - practical tools to further your personal and spiritual development - the skill to communicate collaboratively in a wide spectrum of situations - a knowledge of the issues around the major core beliefs in yourself and others and how to work with them (such as: responsibility, belief in self, trust in life, a compassionate attitude)- the ability to be present, open-minded and mindful - knowing how to market yourself - seeing how it is possible to make a difference in the world. Students who successfully complete a year at the School are able to create their (work) life as they want it even amidst difficult circumstances and to contribute to society in a meaningful way. Thus they can be an inspiring example for others. |

What is the value of the Masters Degree? This question cannot be answered easily, especially not in monetary or career terms. In fact the value is immeasurable. What is the value that you yourself would attribute to the potential results as mentioned previously? And what is the value of knowing yourself to be able to fulfil an essential leadership function in the world with the numerous challenges it faces today? Please bear in mind that the Masters Degree can only be acquired – for instance during a summer school gathering - after years of practice culminated in the presentation of a ‘masterpiece’. Your Master’s Piece can be further theoretical study or a practical result. In fact, it is the formal acknowledgement of your actually being a Master in Leadership. It also allows you to enter the community of Master-Leaders. |
